The upcoming IAAF World Championships in Athletics, to be staged in August in Epson's home country of Japan, will again provide the company with the opportunity to showcase its technological prowess. As the biggest sporting event in 2007, the championships will bring together more than 2000 of the world's top athletes and will attract an estimated total of more than six billion TV viewers.
In addition to processing the results in real time, Epson will provide its unique Epson Performance Evaluation system that not only makes TV viewing more thrilling but also enables athletes to better understand and thus improve their performances. And with its unique Commentator Information System (CIS), Epson will collate and transmit results from the track and field in real time, in addition to a host of information about athletes and previous events and records.
