Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 achieve Digigraphie certification

14 May 2009

Digital imaging specialist Epson, today announces that the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printers have both been certified on the Digigraphie programme. After intensive testing from Wilhelm Imaging Research, these two large format printers have been confirmed to meet all the strict criteria to print Digigraphie works of art.

Digigraphie has increasingly become recognised in the art world as the quality standard, making the Epson name synonymous with the highest quality in colour reproduction. Allowing photographic artists, painters and museums to create limited, certified editions of their original works of art using Epson's most advanced print technology, Digigraphie guarantees exceptional quality and a durability of more than 60 years.

Jordi Borralleras, Market Development Manager LFP at Epson Europe, commented: “The benefit for artists and photographers using Digigraphie is that they control the quality of their digital prints. Now that the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 have been granted official certification, more artists, painters and museums can create perfect reproductions of original works without losing any of the original emotion and aspiration. We believe that with the certification of the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 & 9900, Digigraphie artists can expand their possibilities and improve the quality of their reproductions.”

The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 utilise Epson UltraChrome™ HDR ink, which delivers the widest colour gamut on the market, ideal when reproducing original images where precise, accurate colour is essential. The ink works seamlessly with the MicroPiezo™ TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head to deliver perfectly spherical dots at increased print speeds to ensure the highest possible image quality.

All Digigraphie certified media from Epson will have its own customized ICC Digigraphie profile for the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 which will be available to every Digigraphie artist and certified laboratory.
