The first showing of Epson's new large format printer at PMA Europe 2007
The 64" Stylus Pro 11880 is the world’s first large format printer to feature Epson® ’s latest MicroPiezo Thin Film Piezo™(TFP) print head technology and UltraChrome K3™ Ink with Vivid Magenta. It will be demonstrated at PMA Europe conferences in Paris (10th Sept), Moscow (13th Sept), Birmingham (9th and 10th Oct) and Milan (15th Oct).
Visitors to this year’s European PMA Regional Imaging Conferences will be among the first to see the new 64" Epson Stylus Pro 11880. There will also be opportunities to learn more about Epson Digigraphie® and to see live product demonstrations. Epson, a Gold Sponsor of PMA Europe, will attend all four PMA conferences held in Paris, Moscow, Birmingham and Milan.
The Stylus Pro 11880 is Epson’s latest addition to its large format printer range, designed specifically to meet the creative needs of the professional digital imaging markets. It features UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta, a breakthrough in pigment chemistry, which further expands the already wide colour gamut of UltraChrome K3 Ink. The two magenta inks use new high-density pigments that create more vibrant blues and purples, for example found in seascapes or landscapes. Consistency of output from the new MicroPiezo Thin Film Piezo print head and accuracy of colour profiles means each print will be the same as the first, even if the artwork is printed months apart. The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 is compatible with a wide range of Epson media up to 1.5mm in thickness. It will be demonstrated at the PMA conferences using Epson Ultra Smooth Fine art, Enhance Matte Poster Board and Premium Luster Photo paper.
Epson will also highlight the benefits of Digigraphie, which is increasingly being recognised in the world of art as a distinction of the highest quality in colour reproduction. A Digigraphie print is produced with Epson UltraChrome Ink, UltraChrome K3 Ink, or UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta on certified paper and is accompanied with a certification and signature of authenticity. Professional artists and photographers can authenticate their work with an embossment which customers can identify as a mark of quality and longevity.
The award winning Stylus Pro 3800 and Perfection V750 Pro will be demonstrated simultaneously to show the high-quality professional output that is achieved using Epson’s printing and scanning technologies. The Stylus Pro 3800, an A2 large format printer features the revolutionary UltraChrome K3 Ink technology. It produces print quality that is life-like with excellent grey-scale performance and smooth tonal reproduction. The Perfection V750 Pro is designed for those who want advanced film scanning capability. The Dual Lens System features a Super Resolution and High Resolution lens offering up 6400dpi for high-resolution scanning. DIGITAL ICE™ Technology ensures all dust particles and scratches are removed ensuring final images are clear and crisp.
The Epson award winning P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer will also be on display and is the ideal accessory for professional photographers. Featuring 80GB of storage capacity, images can be viewed instantly on its 4.0" LCD screen, ideal for on location shooting. Epson’s Photo Fine Ultra technology uses a four-colour filter system that provides an unrivalled colour gamut reproducing bright and vibrant colours on screen.
Marco van Niekerk, Senior Product Manager Large Format Printers, Epson Europe, says, ”Publicly demonstrating the Stylus Pro 11880 marks Epson’s commitment to offering professional photographers and artists solutions that create large, high-quality prints for display and resale.
