The Technical Imaging Press Association (TIPA) recognises the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer as best in class across Europe in 2007.

Epson wins two prestigious TIPA awards 2007 for its high-quality digital imaging products. The TIPA panel judge on quality, performance and value, they voted the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 as the ‘Best Expert Photo Printer in Europe 2007’ and the Epson P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer as the ‘Best Storage Back-up in Europe 2007’.

TIPA currently has 31 member magazines from twelve countries, making it the largest and most influential photo and imaging press association in Europe.  Once a year the highly regarded industry experts of the TIPA panel meet to vote for the best digital imaging products in Europe.

Voted by the panel as the ‘Best Expert Photo Printer in Europe 2007’, the Epson Stylus Pro 3800 was recognised for its high-quality ink technology, performance and flexibility. The judges said, “The Epson Stylus Pro 3800 is a 17” wide printer using new photographic screening technology. Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink technology features three-level Black ink, along with new colour pigments. A 1” print head allows both photo and matte Black ink to be installed and switched automatically. The Epson Stylus Pro 3800 handles print sizes from 4x6 up to 17x22” and is capable of handling media up to 1.5mm thick plus a single-sheet feeder optimized for fine art papers.”

The ‘Best Storage Back-up in Europe in 2007’ is the Epson P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer, it features the world’s first four-colour filter system for a portable device. The judges recognised the value of the storage capacity, the quality of the Photo Fine display and the versatility of the P-5000, they said it “offers 80GB of storage capacity and a large, 4” LCD based on Epson Photo Fine Ultra LCD technology. Besides JPEG and RAW files, a variety of video and audio formats are also supported, making this a true multimedia device. The Epson P-5000 displays 24-bit colour images with up to 16.7 million colours, and compatibility with both sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spaces allow for a more accurate display. The P-5000 provides SD and CF card slots plus a USB 2.0 interface, which allows for fast transfer to and from a PC.”
