Epson wins 'Best Proofing Equipment of the Year' in the European Digital Press (EDP) Association Awards
18 March 2009
The European Digital Press (EDP) Association has recognised two Epson printers, the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9900, as the ‘Best Proofing Equipment of the Year’ in its prestigious 2009 awards.
The EDP Associations’ judging panel of print industry experts were particularly impressed with the improved UltraChrome™ HDR (High Dynamic Range) inks, Epson’s pioneering MicroPiezo™ TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head technology and the optional calibration and verification system, the Epson SpectroProofer™.
The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 utilise Epson UltraChrome™ HDR ink, which delivers the widest colour gamut on the market. The ink works seamlessly with the MicroPiezo TFP™ print head to deliver perfectly spherical dots at increased print speeds to ensure the highest possible image quality. Furthermore, the optional Epson SpectroProofer™ tool offers a reliable, consistent and repeatable proof verification and printer calibration solution that makes precise remote proofing a reality.
Duncan Ferguson, Director of Pro-Graphics and New Business Development, at Epson Europe, commented: “This award demonstrates Epson’s commitment to innovation and quality. Offering speed and repeatability, the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9900 address the requirements of commercial printers and enable them to broaden their business potential. The new technologies and features implemented in these products make them ideal for high end proofing application. We are thrilled that the EDP Association has acknowledged that the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Epson Stylus Pro 9900 are at the forefront of this market.”
The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Epson Stylus Pro 9900 will both be on show at FESPA Digital in Amsterdam, 12-14 May, 2009, the leading European trade show for the screen and signage industry.
